“I’m so proud of you that it makes me proud of me. I hope you know that.”
– John Green
Today is one of those days that makes me realize that, as long as I have you, I won’t ever have a bad day again.
I picked you up from daycare and you were snacking on some Pirate’s Booty (your new favorite snack). When you were done, your teacher was holding the bowl and you pointed at it and said “MORE!” Well…it kind of sounded like ‘ma-er’. But, it was clear what you meant.
Then, as we drove home, we were practicing words (like we often do). I say a word, and instead of repeating it back you babble “dadadada mamamama”. But today, I said “Hi Charlie!” and you responded, “Hhhhhhhhiiiii.” YES, that is correct, TWO new words in one day!!!
Words can’t describe how wonderful it is to see you grow and learn new things, right in front of my eyes. The littlest things make me so proud of you. No matter how rough a day, how bad of a mood, your little smile and sweet voice melt my heart.
Way to go with expanding your vocabulary, bud! Now we’re up to: Mama, Dada, Uh-Oh, Doggy, Nana, More and Hi. Nice work!
