Charlie,
Before you were a twinkle in my eye, I was a somewhat-cluttery-but-deep-down-anal-retentive-cleaner. Sometimes our condo would get cluttered with “stuff,” but it was rarely dirty and flat out a mess. There was a day, long ago, when I could not get a good night’s sleep if my clothes weren’t hung just right on their perfect, white hangers.

Since you came along, it has been really hard to keep a clean house. Honestly, I just don’t have time to clean. And when I do have time, I’d rather spend it napping or drinking wine. Depending on the day.

We’re in the process of buying a new house. I keep telling myself that, once we have more space, it will feel less cluttered and be easier to keep clean. And while the house we are buying would double our useable square-footage, I’m afraid it will still end up looking like this most days:

I guess there’s only one thing left to do about this mess– refill my wine glass.

Love,
Your Messy Momma
